Hi there.
Hope your week has been going fine and dandy well.
Last night I had my shoulder MRI. It was pretty painless. Took about 25 minutes and the technician had alternative rock playing so I was happy. They made me take my bra off because of the metal clasp, but I was able to keep the rest of my clothing on so I didn’t need to wear a silly paper gown. I tossed the bra in my purse. After the test was over I was in such a rush to get home I forgot to put it back on. When I got home I laughed that it was still in my purse.
I’ll get the results next week but as I’ve mentioned I’m finally feeling improvement and feel confident that at this point some PT will be all I need to get my full range of motion back in my shoulder. I cannot wait for the day I can pull a shirt over my head without having to gingerly slide my right arm into the sleeve first.
Oh, and I finally made some progress in the attempt for a referral to a sports injury doc. The receptionist at the doc’s office took down all the info for my request and was going to share with my primary care doc. If he approves then they’ll just call me when the referral is ready. Cross your fingers! The doc I’m hoping to see is actually a sports chiropractor. His bio says “Dr. Williams has dedicated his life to treating sports injuries and teaching proper biomechanics to athletes, as well as any individual interested in leading an active life.” Sounds like the right guy for me!
So last I left you I had just filled you in on my meltdown and the Cold Feat 10k. After my running peeps went home, I had to make a quick stop up the road at my folks’ house. It had started to snow and everything was blanketed in white.
Then on Sunday morning I took some cool shots of ice formations around my neighborhood.
In the afternoon I took Duncan to go play in the woods.
The fresh fallen snow was the perfect consistency. It was sort of wet and granular and didn’t accumulate into those frustrating snowballs like he usually has to deal with. There weren’t any human footprints yet but we did see some animal prints and Duncan needed to sniff each one. It was about 44 degrees and frankly, it felt really warm. Maybe I got a little too carried away but I decided to open the moonroof.
Then I came home to get my tax docs in order while Duncan relaxed.
Sunday evening I joined Mr. SOTSS to watch the Oscars. Duncan and his pal Chester weren’t really too interested.
Last night I had insomnia. It was 2am and I was on the couch channel surfing. Duncan got annoyed and finally took to the floor to get to sleep….but not without a pillow!
And right now as I type this I’m getting a weird look from him…
So I better go start my day. I’m packing a gym bag and plan on getting in a quick cardio session on the bike this afternoon on my lunch break! I can’t wait!
Didn’t I say I was going to try not to post so many pictures of Duncan? #OopsIdiditagain #sorrynotsorry
Have you ever had an MRI
Are you claustrophobic?
Ladies, what is the weirdest thing in your purse right now?
Glad you’re feeling better! I’m so impressed that you’re still keeping fit and getting outdoors with all that snow! I’m a Cali girl so I’m sheepish about leaving the house when it’s less than 40 degrees 😉 Hmmm, I don’t think there’s anything strange in my purse but it’s just a clutch at the moment. Xox
I actually just cleaned out my purse, so there’s not really anything weird in there anymore. The weirdest thing I pulled out was probably 20 snowflake buttons that have been floating around in there for about a year. I used them for a sensory bin in my classroom last January and apparently never bothered to put them anywhere.
I fully support more Duncan pictures, he’s very photogenic 🙂
