The last few days have been filled with all good things. First I received a special award at work. Nope not for my diligence in the office. It was for being in the best shape! Apparently if you run 19 races in one year you qualify.
I got a pedometer along with the certificate too! Then I came home to more packages in the mail! The missing leg to my trampoline came. So I completed assembly and then tried it out.
Yeah, I think I just learned that jumping in socks is not a stellar idea. I almost wiped out. But the good news is I love it and Iām so excited to use it a whole lot in 2014 as an alternative low impact way to burn calories when Iām not running.
The pretty jewelry purchases that I mentioned about in this post arrived as well.
And to top it all off I found out I won a Divine Chocolates USA gift set from the 12 Divine Holiday Treats giveaway over at The Rescue Baker. You must try some of the recipes. The chocolate torte one is even gluten free.
Yesterday morning the alarm sounded at 4:30am. I was off to the city by 5:30am to meet the running peeps for our annual Holiday Windows Run at 6:30am.
It was unseasonably WARM. It is usually in the 20s and 30s this time of year and yesterday it reached 60! I had a few āissuesā when I arrived. First, I thought I had parked in a legal parking spot (which in Manhattan on a Saturday is almost impossible) and was really excited I had 10 extra minutes to leisurely walk to our meeting spot. Well, I noticed under some scaffolding a very dirty sign and when I went to get out of the car to look, my cell phone which was on my lap fell and landed in a murky puddle. Good job Sally! I swooped it up like it was my child and shook out the water and wrapped it in a towel, then read the signā¦.No standing! So now I was down to 3 minutes to move the car (and still didnāt know if the phone survived the swim)ā¦.I drove around continuing my search for a spot but ultimately had no choice and parked in a lot for $40! Ouch! On the bright side, my phone was totally fine #christmasmiracle We ran about 6.5 miles and stopped to see lots of cool decorated department store windows, and many of the well known trees including THE tree at Rockafeller Center. We started at the Bloomberg treeā¦
Then toured the store windowsā¦
We even went inside St. Patricks Cathedral for a minute to light a candle.
We ran through Times Square and took our annual TKTS stairs shot (technically they were closed but we are rebels.
We made our stop at the big Rock Center treeā¦
And then the best part of the run cameā¦.breakfast at Whole Foods. (you canāt see but my breakfast consisted of eggs, bacon, 2 medium sized pancakes and 2 biscuits! #santapiggy) Some of the peeps Iāve seen a whole lot this year, but others I havenāt seen since our last annual holiday run. So itās nice to get the chance to chit chat a bit during this run.
With full bellies and lots of christmas cheer we parted ways but not before one last kick-picā¦
I spent the afternoon relaxing a bit and then my old school friend Cheryl stopped by. Sheās in town for the holidays and it was great to see her.
This morning I was being super lazy. I had 2 cups of coffee and a well balanced breakfastā¦
Well, I guess lazy is gonna have to give way to productive nowā¦ Question: Tell me about your weekend? What were all your good things?
Thanks for the running tour of NYC, I didnāt get there this Christmas!
